Bonded compomer slope for anterior tooth crossbite correction.

چکیده
The “reverse” stainless steel crown is a well-known method of correcting single tooth anterior crossbite (Fig 1). When an elongated preformed incisor stainless steel crown is luted with the lingual surface facing labially, the resulting slope contacts the opposing mandibular incisors and normal occlusal forces move the incisors out of crossbite relationship. The reverse crown method corrects “dental tipping” type single tooth crossbite rapidly, comfortably, inexpensively, and without the need for special patient cooperation. Such treatment is also useful in certain cases of primary tooth anterior crossbite and was used once for treatment of a 10-month-old. Two disadvantages of using reverse stainless steel crowns are the unsightly silver appearance of the crown form, and the limitations of working with an inclined slope that is already formed. Both problems can be avoided by using a bonded resin-based composite custom formed inclined slope. The authors have found that using a polyacid-modified, resin-based composite material (“compomer”) to form the slope facilitates treatment. Compomers do not have the physical strengths of the unmodified resin-based composites and are therefore easier to remove from the tooth after completion of crossbite correction. This article describes correction of single tooth anterior crossbite using bonded compomer material and documents two cases of successful treatment.

Treatment of Anterior Dental Crossbite Using Bonded Resin-Composite Slopes: Case Reports
Anterior crossbite is the term used to describe an abnormal labiolingual relationship between one or more maxillary and mandibular incisor teeth. Different techniques have been used to correct anterior crossbite. This paper describes the use of bonded resin-composite slopes for the management of anterior crossbite in children in early mixed dentition. In each of the cases presented here, dental ...

AIM The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Haas RPE anchored on deciduous teeth in the early mixed dentition, for inducing the spontaneous correction of permanent incisor's crossbite, without compliance, without post bite-plane and no involvement of the permanent teeth. MATERIALS AND METHODS The sample group comprised 50 consecutive patients (mean age 8y 5m, SD 2y 1m),...
متن کاملAnterior Sectional Twin Bracket Appliance – Innovative Use for Correction of Single Tooth Crossbite: A Case Report with Biomechanics
Anterior sectional twin bracket appliance (ASTBA) is a sectional mechanism that involves two brackets on upper central incisors. This appliance is previously been used for correction of rotated incisors and midline spacing. But, detail biomechanics for single tooth crossbite correction is not previously explained. Here, in this article, we are presenting a detailed biomechanics of ASTBA for ant...
متن کاملAcrylic Planas Direct Tracks for Anterior Crossbite Correction in Primary Dentition
Anterior crossbite is one of the most common forms of malocclusion in sagittal relationship of maxilla and mandible. If not corrected at the earliest, it will cause restriction of normal growth and development of both the jaws. The incidence of anterior crossbite is 4 to 5% in primary dentition. Self-correction may occur at the transient dentition or permanent dentition stage, but treating it s...
متن کاملAnterior dental crossbite correction using a simple fixed appliance: case report
A fixed orthodontic appliance utilizing light continuous forces to correct an anterior crossbite is described. This appliance can serve as an alternative to other methods of anterior crossbite correction in the permanent dentition. One of the major responsibilities of the dental practitioner is to intercept adverse patterns of dental eruption in the child. 1 Among the developmental problems fre...
